Making its maiden voyage in May 2006 will be Manohra Dream, a 20 meter-long rice barge offering exclusive five-star overnight charters exploring Thailand’s famous Menam Chao Phraya, the ‘River of Kings’.
Built upon the original 100-year-old, solid teak hull, the rice barge has been painstakingly restored and lavishly converted into a luxurious river cruiser. Manohra Dream features only two elegantly appointed staterooms, thereby providing the most intimate of cruise experiences for no more than two couples.
Manohra Dream, like its counterpart Manohra Song was designed by interiors specialist Kathleen Heinecke of Ireland-based Polygon Designs. Elaborate detail meticulously crafted by hand into the teakwood is used throughout the vessel and is reminiscent of a traditional Thai dwelling in days gone by. Custom-designed furniture and muted soft natural fabrics with splashes of color for contrast are set against the rich teak finishes. Many silks are used for the furnishings and wall hangings and artifacts from around the country are incorporated in the interior design with inspiration drawn from images of life during the reign of King Rama V.
